Canon MX472 Wireless SetUp can be done in 2 methods:

WPS Method; 

In order to use the WPS push button method, keep in mind the following conditions;

• There must be a physical WPS push button in the access point.
• Go through your device’s user guide for details.
• Please use the instructions in the Standard Connection Method in absence of WPS push button.
• Check your network must use WPA or WPA2 security protocol.

Steps:

1. Click the ‘Setup’ button on the printer.
2. Now, select ‘Wireless LAN setup’ and click the ‘OK’ button.
3. After selecting ‘Wireless LAN setup’ a blue lamp will light up.
4. Now, the printer automatically searches for access points that support WPS features.
5. The display shows :  “Press WPS button about 5 seconds and press [OK] on the device”
6. Click and hold the WPS button on the access point.
7. Within 2 minutes, press the [OK] button.
8. While searching for or connecting to the access point, the blue lamp flashes.
9. After connecting, the screen shows “Connected. Press [OK].
10. Click the [OK] button.
11. Now, install the software.

Steps for Standard Connection Method;

1. Press the setup button on the printer.
2. Choose Wireless LAN setup and press [OK].
3. Now press the Stop/Reset button.
4. This screen will appear’ “Wireless Setup. Standard Setup.”
5. The printer starts searching nearby wireless networks.
6. Use arrow buttons to select your network’s name.
7. Press [OK] twice.
8. Select ‘Search again’ in case you are unable to see your network.
9. A screen’ “Enter passphrase  :a” appears.
10. Enter the security passphrase of your wireless network, using the numeric buttons.
11. The three input modes; the uppercase, the lowercase, and numeric mode.
12. Press ‘*’ to switch to any of the three modes.
13. After entering the passphrase, click OK.
14. Proceed with the software installation.

Restoring Default Settings for Canon MX472;

If you want to reset your network settings to default and  want to change your access point, it can be done by following the below-mentioned steps:

1. Click the setup button on the printer.
2. To select device settings make use of the arrow buttons.
3. Press the [OK] button.
4. To select reset settings use arrow buttons.
5. Select [OK]  button.
6. Make use of arrow buttons to select LAN settings.
7. Use the arrow buttons to choose yes and then press [OK].
